Workflow Ledger is an independent engineering reference site designed to provide transparent, verifiable calculations. We believe that financial modeling tools should respect your operational privacy by default.
1. Local Client-Side Calculation & URL Sharing Notice
All calculations performed in the Make vs n8n Cost Calculator execute entirely inside your local web browser via client-side JavaScript (public/engine.js).
- No Application Database Storage: Our application does not record, harvest, or database the numbers you enter into the calculator (such as workflow runs, step counts, hourly rates, or custom vendor quotes).
- Optional Scenario Link Sharing: If you use the "Copy Scenario Link" feature, your entered parameters are serialized directly into the URL query string. Shared-link parameters are visible to recipients and are sent as part of the page request when opened. Our application does not record calculator values or retain request access logs.
- Confidentiality Advisory: Users are explicitly cautioned not to encode sensitive, confidential, or proprietary enterprise figures into shared scenario URLs.
2. No Accounts, Login, or Email Capture
Workflow Ledger does not require an account, username, password, or email registration. We do not operate email newsletters, lead capture modals, or gated content walls.
3. No Marketing Cookies or Third-Party Ad Trackers
We do not use advertising networks, cross-site behavioral tracking scripts, retargeting pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. There are no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or tracking tags loaded on this website.
4. Coarse Aggregate Event Metrics
To understand broad site usage patterns without compromising privacy, the client interface may issue a coarse anonymous notification via POST /api/event containing only the event identifier {"event": "calculator_used"}. This metric:
- Does not include any numbers, quotes, or values you entered into the calculator.
- Does not contain personally identifiable information (PII).
- Is strictly debounced or triggered once per user session.
5. Minimal Infrastructure Logging
Request access logs are disabled for this website. Hosting systems may retain limited error or security logs needed to maintain the service. Avoid including confidential figures in shared URLs.
6. Vendor Link Disclosure & Independence
Outbound vendor links on this publication direct to official vendor websites. There is currently no active affiliate relationship with any platform; any future commission arrangements will be clearly disclosed. All comparisons and cost calculations remain completely independent mathematical models.
7. Verification and Source Integrity
Pricing data and billing rules referenced on this publication were verified against official vendor documentation on October 10, 2026. You can independently audit the mathematics directly in your browser's Developer Tools by inspecting engine.js and ui.js.
